Thanksgiving Dinner for BIC Church

Thanksgiving Dinner for BIC Church

Many years ago Phil and Lil Gregg, realizing that some Islanders didn’t have family to share in a traditional Thanksgiving, decided to do something about that. And a tradition began. It started with Phil and Lil inviting a few people for dinner at their home. Then the other church members took turns each year. Soon the group became too large for their homes so they moved the dinner to the Christian Church and this eventually became the Community Thanksgiving Dinner at the Gregg Fellowship Center,

And then came COVID and things changed.

Last year the four Island churches collaborated in a project that offered the ingredients of a Thanksgiving dinner to Island residents.

Thanksgiving 2022: Once again, Beaver Island Christian Church is joining with other Island churches to offer you the gift of a Thanksgiving dinner to enjoy in your home with your family or friends.

We will provide the fixin’s for a traditional dinner: turkey, stuffing mix, potatoes, sweet potatoes, vegetable, rolls, and a frozen pumpkin pie.

Just to be clear: You will prepare this dinner!!

Call or test Judi (448-2963 or 231-350-1154) to reserve a dinner box. Leave your name, the number of people, and a contact number (cell number preferred).

Distribution for these boxes will be on Monday, November 21. You will be given a time-frame for pick-up.

There is no charge, but donations will be accepted.

Deadline for making reservations is November 15.

We are hopeful that we can return to a Community Dinner at Gregg Fellowship Center soon. Time will tell!!
