Guess we now know Richie is also the one that "Bumps" since priority was changed on this thread to allow it to go to the top of the threads. Funny how Richie only picks what is on his agenda...moderator really, or just using the forum to try and get what he wants?

I was asked to do the survey by WVBI,
It shows 20% are still undecided plenty of time for constructive points about the way forward

Re: New Survey on Consolidation
Wrong again round eyes. Go back to your kennel. Just want some intelligent people at the top not a bunch of no accounts.
Re: New Survey on Consolidation
Andy, I don't post anonymously and I don't ask people to post that way. Quit acting like a child when you post and make your salacious accusations! Maybe people are tiring of the half truths and cooked numbers your group have been posting! Be honest, a communities existence is at stake here. We started out in Peaine as did many, in fact over 160 years ago. This is not about petty politics to me, it's about the long term future of the place I was born so keep that in mind.
Re: New Survey on Consolidation
Also, I am not bump, it annoys me if you want the truth!
Re: New Survey on Consolidation
"Half truths and cooked numbers . . . ?" I will be pleased to review and defend the "numbers" in a public forum any time between now and May 8th. Can I be assured that a proponent of consolidation will join me at that forum to review and defend your "numbers?"

Re: New Survey on Consolidation
Jeff,
Can you open a result page after a couple of days so that we can see the progress like you did last time?
Thanks for doing this again!

Re: New Survey on Consolidation
How does the consolidation vote work?
Is it a simple majority?
Does it have to pass by a certain percentage in each township?

Re: New Survey on Consolidation
Yes, each township! One vote can pass it (in each township).

Re: New Survey on Consolidation
One thing that jumps out at me is the non-voting property owners approve of the consolidation over 81%.
This is validation that the non-homestead taxpayers have felt taken advantage of and have bore the burden for too long.
I would think if the elected officials would recognize that if they took care of the non-homestead taxpayers there would more families willing to invest in second homes.
77% of island visitors approve of the consolidation, I would suspect those are visitors that are waiting on the sidelines to see what's going to happen with the consolidation maybe considering to become non-homestead owners

Re: New Survey on Consolidation
Something that jumps out at me is that out of all of this there was only 103 residents that can vote out of what 600 registered voters on Beaver Island that took this survey, 500 other voters are going to vote (many already have) on Tuesday. Although I understand your logic for the survey it is just a small piece of a big picture and I feel it is not the correct picture but Tuesday it will all become clear.
