Marketing opportunity to put our Best BI Feet Forward

Post by anniep »

The Beaver Island Boat Company has initiated the following group excursions in an effort to market Beaver Island across our region!

Should you encounter any of these group participants, please be sure to extend a "hearty" Beaver Island welcome! If your organization is interested in participating in greeting and welcoming these groups at the Boat Dock and/or Community Center, please let us know.

We would like to coordinate something unique and festive for the Group Tour Leaders welcome/greeting at the Boat Dock on 6/16. Ideas and particpation are welcome! Let's make it grand! Contact Ann @ 448-2022 or bicommunitycenter@tds.net.

June 4 â?? Multiple Northern Michigan Chambers and CVBâ??s will come to Beaver Island for the day for a tour as well as plenty of free time downtown St. James. They are hoping to visit the shops, museums, etc. Please try to be open this day!

June 9 â?? Around 60 Charlevoix area business owners/employees are traveling to Beaver Island for a tour as well as to eat, shop and visit your businesses! Thank you to Shamrock, Dalwhinnie and Stoney Acre for agreeing to do discounted lunches for our visitors! They are the faces that Charlevoix visitors see, we are hoping this trip will help them be ambassadors for Beaver Island ! Charlevoix State Bank is sponsoring a free pizza party on the boat back for this group!

June 16 â?? A group of about 50 Group Tour leaders are traveling to Beaver Island to experience the tour as well as the downtown. The boat trip, tour and meals are being provided for free. The goal is to have the tour operators return with their groups to Beaver Island in the future. A special Thank you to a discounted lunch from Shamrock and free dinner from Dalwhinnie! We are asking area businesses if they would like to put discount coupons, trinkets or freebies into gift bags we are giving each participants! Please contact Cathy at BIBCo if you would like to participate! 231-547-2311 or marketing@bibco.com

Good to see the economic entities connected to the Island all working together....

I'm surprised that the idea of flying everyone home from the two airports hasn't been brought up... as this would showcase the idea that there are different ways to go to and from the island....
and that variety in travel options makes it even more appealing for the frequent visitor ...

Additionally, you might want to consider getting all these folks out of town...
..... being the real beauty and draw of the island becomes very apparent once one gets out of the glare of the "city lights".
I'm not sayin' a Beaver Booze cruise.. however, a quick shot around the top half of the island, Donegal Bay, Barney's , Fox and a glimpse of the Eastern shore... well, they say a picture is worth a thousand words...
.... and Dickie McEvoy's big blue Caddy convertable could hold a bunch of 'em :D :D

these are just my ideas.... your reality may vary...
If we do not all hang together,
we will all hang separately,
Ben Franklin

Johnster,
The Beaver Island Boat Company was all over that--they arranged Island tours getting participants exposed to the Island natural environment virtues, as well as ample "free-time" for the participants to explore.

As this is/was a marketing initiative undertaken and underwritten by the Beaver Island Boat Company, I am sure you can appreciate that travel by air was not emphasized!

For the next upcoming group visits, it's an opportunity for the rest of us to make this a truly great and comprehensive Beaver Island experience!
