Hello Friends,
Why doesn’t Dracula have any friends? I will share the answer at the end of this Charlevoix County COA On Beaver Island update.
Please note that the Charlevoix County Commission on Aging (CCCOA) office on Beaver Island will be closed on Monday, November 4 and on Friday, November 8, due to medical reasons. For assistance with meal orders or other services on those two days, please contact the CCCOA office in Charlevoix at 231-237-0103. Remember nearly every day of the week CCCOA on Beaver Island Site Coordinator Lonnie Allen can be found at the Beaver Island Community Center or reached by calling 231-448-2124.
The Charlevoix County Commission on Aging senior center in Charlevoix is providing hot roast beef meals to veterans and spouses who order by Friday, November 1, 2024, by calling 231-237-0103. Meals will be available to pick up at Island Airways on Friday, November 8, 2024. More delivery information will be available as we get closer to the November delivery date. I am working closely with Charlevoix County COA Assistant Director Sheri Shepard to make sure this delivery day goes smoothly.
Additionally, I will be available on Friday, November 1, 2024, during the complimentary senior/veteran coffee and donuts to share information on Charlevoix County COA programs like the Snow Removal Program, Wellness Check Program, and Home Reimbursement Program. If you have any questions about COA services or activities on Beaver Island, this is a great time to stop by for clarification.
We have a couple of agencies returning to Beaver Island to assist with Medicare questions:
•Dale Boehm of Boehm Agency: Friday, November 1, 2024
•Bill and Toni Tarrant of Apex: Monday, November 11, 2024
Feel free to meet with any of the agencies to gather information that best suits your medical needs.
Lastly, I’ve received several inquiries about changes to the dates for Bingo, Cardio Drumming, and other activities. I will be available to answer your questions about these changes during complimentary senior and veteran Coffee & Donuts event on Friday. Please remember to thank the Beaver Island Community Center staff for hosting this event, generously sponsored by an anonymous donor. I’m grateful that the BIC Center provides space for Veterans Affairs and myself to be available during their coffee and donuts event.
See you Friday!
