The First Annual Beaver Island Jazz Fest, August 14 â?? 15!
August 14 â?? 11:00 AM â?? Mr. Bâ??s JoyBox Express will roll off the Emerald Isle Ferry as a boogie-woogie announcement of the first Beaver Island Jazz Fest! Weather permitting, the Joybox Express will lead a parade of bikers of all ages from the Community Center, up Michigan Avenue to Dalwhinnie Deli, then back to the post office and around Back Beach Road and return to the Community Center. Come join the fun! Tickets for reserved seats are $30 for each concert or both concerts for $50. Please call the Community Center, 231-448-2022.
Opening Night, Friday, August 14 â?? 8:00PM â?? Beaver Island Community Center, featuring Mark Braun (Mr. B) on piano, one of the premiere purveyors of a vanishing boogie-woogie art form. Paul Keller on bass and Pete Siers on drums will ramp up the energy in an explosion of pure musical joy thatâ??s so infectious Beaver Island will be swinging and singing all night!
Saturday, August 15 â?? 8:00PM â?? Beaver Island Community Center, featuring the Easy Street Jazz Band in a performance of traditional jazz/swing and Dixieland music with the legendary Jim Dapogny on piano, Paul Klinger on cornet/soprano saxophone, Rod McDonald on acoustic guitar, Chris Smith on clarinet, Paul Keller on string bass and Pete Siers on drums. Let the good times roll on!
