Start your Memorial Day Weekend off with some food for your mind from WVBI. At 8 am on Saturday listen for Mo Abele's interview with Dr. Greg Butcher, Migratory Species Coordinator for the U.S. Forest Service's International Program. Learn about birds, bird migrations, and what makes Beaver Island a favorite stopping point for birds on the wing. It's a special presentation in honor of all the visitors we have this weekend enjoying the Beaver Island Birding Trail (and it will pre-empt our regular presentation of Living Planet).

Also on tap for tomorrow and Sunday morning:

6 am -- Worldlink--Personal stories from people involved in headline events around the world. This week a look at volunteer fighters training with a plan to take Mosul back ISIS, personal reactions to some controversial teaching in Pakistan and more.

7 am -- Inside Europe -- News from the continent of our Irish forbearers. This week more news on the EU's reaction to human trafficking across the Med with plans for a naval mission, a pro-Kurdistan party plans participation in upcoming Turkish elections and more stories from across Europe.

On Sunday at 8 am, listen for Living Planet at its regular time with news from around the world about the environment. This week, 200 days to the Paris UN Climate Change Summit, the latest on the EUâ??s GMO crop controversy and how the tiny German village of Feldheim became an energy role model (with a population smaller than Beaver Island's).

Tune in Saturday and Sunday morning on www.WVBI.net.
