Position: Camp Director

Camp Description
What better way to spend your summer than at Camp Beaver Island! Camp Beaver Island is designed in 1 week sessions with a wide variety of conventional interests that include arts & crafts, group games, swimming, outdoor education and so much more. Campers are grouped by ages that range from 5 to 10. Our goal is to provide a safe environment that appreciates diversity, while making lifelong memories and friendships.
Job Description The Day Camp Director works closely in harmony with the Camp Executive Director as part of the leadership team at camp. The Day Camp Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects the day camp program for local campers ages 5-10, including supervising Day Cap counselors, communicating with parents, camper check-in/check-out, scheduling and planning weekly activities. This is a seasonal position from June - August. Work with Executive Director to hire and train camp counselors. Provide a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

Qualifications
*High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
*Previous experience working with children in group settings
*Previous experience in a supervisory role preferred.
*At least 18 years of age.
*Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification (training provided) Salary Range $12-15 per hour
