The NEW Community Message Board

Take a look - go to www.beaverisland.org and click Message Board (top right) and log in. Give it a try. Spread the word! Best wishes from THE ISLAND.

Already there is news of an Eye Doctor and Foot Specialist (DPM) on the Community Message Board.

The Message Board Guiding Principles
Our goal is a kind, considerate, constructive and informative message board.

The Beaver Island Community Message Board (The Board) is provided as a place for everyone to use to communicate events like births, fun events, deaths, a special sale or price, opportunities to serve, open houses, opportunities to join, meetings and much more. The board is a place for civil informative communication about the Island so many of us love â?? Beaver Island, MI.

The board is not a place for political discussion at the local, state, national or international level. It is not a place for rumors, to criticize, reprimand or accuse.

Your must register with your actual first and last name, email address and phone number. The email address and phone will not be public. You may choose to include them in your posts.

Posts outside our guiding principals will be deleted - three strikes and youâ??re out. The World Wide Web is huge. There is room for just about any post somewhere. Some posts and contributors may not fit here.

I just attempted to login and received a message from Suresupport that my computer and e-mail have been compromised or hacked.
Call it "strike one" but I'm not happy.

Just logged in a second time without the warning message appearing but still concerned about the first warning message received that I may have been hacked when trying to login after registering and change to a new pass word.
This is a more positive posting so please don't call it "strike two".

Kirk, I got the message I believe you're referring to and it said the site had received multiple attempts to log on using the wrong password. It didn't say I was hacked.
Big difference.

There must be two message when you attempt to register and it fails. I got the message that there were too many failed password attempts and the software put the registration form into protection mode and would reset within 15 minutes. The screen I was sent to didn't say anything about my email or computer being hacked.

I haven't received the message again but I believe it was sent out by "Supersupport". Someone might know what site that is but there was a website to click on to assure that your computer was protected. I obviously didn't click on it and being skeptical of the message, I shut down my computer as quickly as possible without reading the whole message.
Somewhat reassuring that others are getting messages also. The webmaster should be able to clarify it for all of us.
With me being an easy target, I thought someone might be gunning for me. Las Vegas betting line still has me as highest odds on being the first with 3 strikes. Save your gambling money, it isn't going to happen.

I actually received a message for (paraphrasing) "too many login attempts" but still had the login page open after I had registered to receive my temporary password. After I closed it and reopened, it worked just fine.

Such a different format will require some tweaking on their part, and adjustments on ours...let's give some valuable feedback!

I'd like to be able to preview a post, see how many "views" for any given post, and be able to return to the "main menu of topics" without having to scroll all the way back to the top!

Hope all goes swell!

Have logged on several times now with no more problems. Would like to thank the Rum Runner for running interference for me. It's much easier to navigate with a couple of rums. At least I'm going to bed HAPPY so it must be working.

I would like to know if we will no longer get our medical information on this site? If so please let us know! As a public institution working for the community the information should be offered to everyone on any or all public sites.

Good point Carol, it's not on Joe's web site either. Is the Health Center trying to force us to use the Chamber Forum for important information about health care?

Health Care

Post by Pam Grassmick »

I subscribe to Joe Moore's website and thanks to Phyllis' post was directed there to see what medical services were being offered. Maybe it was just an oversight; but, wouldn't the board of the Health Center have a policy where they would attempt to reach the most people by also using this community forum? I appreciate the Chamber board building hits to their website but not at the expense of this community getting information related to badly needed health care options for the elderly and others in our community.
