MORE Creative Fun!

Post by CVX Commission on Aging »

Adventurous people of all ages are invited to join us for these upcoming "creative fun" opportunities at the Community Center!

2/3: 1-4pm "Painting" (not your traditional sort...)
Cindy Ricksgers instructs us on the use of varying textures, tools, techniques (tissue paper transfer, sponge-block printing, etc.) and colors to produce a variety of painted surfaces especially for use in creation of our collages on 2/17!
(If you can't join us for the collage session, you will still learn unique approaches to painting for other creative endeavors!)
All materials provided. Fee-free, but donations are accepted.

2/13: 10am-12pm Soy Candle-making
Jacque Lafreniere guides us through the making of our own personal scented soy candles. You can bring your own (approx 8oz or less) "container" (small coffee mug, tea cup, parfait glass, etc.), or she will have a great variety available. Fee $10 (including materials & container). Pre-made candles will also be available for sale.
Call 448-2022 to sign up so we can prepare for materials!

2/17: 1-4pm "Collaging" 101
Cindy Ricksgers directs us in the intricacies of collage making! Learn the techniques and "no-rules-rules" from the master...incorporating hand-made papers and textiles, painted surfaces, personal photographs and special items, and your imagination!
Most materials provided (including pre-made, hand-made papers. Participants are encouraged to bring personal items such as photographs, etc.). Fee-free, but donations are accepted.

Join us for some creative fun and exercise that right brain!
Call Ann at 448-2022 to reserve so we can have ample materials and work space available!

Don't forget to join in some creative fun at the Community Center Tuesday afternoon, 2/3 @ 1pm!

Cindy Ricksgers will lead us through a "painting musical chairs" where we will learn different painted-surface techniques (such as marbling), and create a variety of painted papers to be used in our Collage Making on 2/17!

(Even if you are unable to join us for the Collage Making, you will still learn many valuable techniques applicable to your other creative endeavors...and...even if you are unable to join us for this painting session, you are still invited and welcome to join us for "Collage Making". Just check the forum for updated instructions, and call Ann @ 448-2022 so we can prepare additional supplies!)

Please note: This session will probably last 1 1/2 to 2 hours, instead of 3. All ages are welcome. Fee-free, however donations are graciously accepted.
