Adopt A Duck For Five Bucks! Sponsor a duck in a Rubber Duck Race. Kelton Hunter is a young man recently diagnosed with Cancer and has a long course of treatments ahead of him. To help his family defray the costs, we are holding a Rubber Duck Derby. For five dollars you can pick a numbered duck, and if your duck comes in first, second, or third you can win a prize. Remember, we want Kelton and his family to be the real winners here, so come play for support and fun! 1:30 Saturday August 30th @ the Public Beach after the Marathon. To purchase a duck off island, please send checks made payable to: Randi Hunter c/o Lisa Gillespie P.O. Box 252 Beaver Island, MI 49782. If you have a certain number that you would like to purchase for your duck, Lisa will try to honor that if the number is still available otherwise a random number will be chosen for your duck. "Release the Quaken". Saturday, August 30th, watch the ducks dive and ride the waves at the Public Beach @ approxiamately 1:30pm. There will be first, second and third place winners, and do a quacker grab for the rest of the prizes. There are 31 additional prizes so your chance of winning something is pretty good. Remember, The only one who we want to win is KELTON!!!!!

heh lisa ...rough weather it seems is ahead for the ducks.....are they going to be wearing lifejackets? I can crochet up 300 if needed....lol
