Mary Stewart Adams, Director of Programs at the International Dark Sky Park at the Headlands in Emmet County, will give her "stellar" presentation at the Community Center--no matter what the weather!
"Whether" we are able to venture out for a spectacular nighttime Beaver Island Dark Sky experience under her tutelage or not, this presentation of the great Northern Michigan night sky is sure to be educational, informative and fascinating!
At its designation in May 2011, the Headlands was just the sixth such park in the United States and the ninth in the world! Come join us for more information on just what an International Dark Sky Park is, what can be experienced just by "looking up", what cultural, mythological, and astrological connections are associated with these constellations, and what we as an Island community can do to enhance our "stellar" natural resource!
