Mary Ann Omer's Mother 102-RIP

Mary Ann's (former Beaver Island School teacher and resident) mother, Beatrice Thomas, passed away last Thursday at the age of 102! What an incredible stretch that had to be! Best wishes Mary Ann and our sympathy. Keep smiling, she would expect that!

The secret to her longevity was her love of life and always looking as if she were 25 years younger than her chronological age, that combined with her living life to the fullest. In respect for this fine grand lady, I will lower my flag when sailing by Grand Haven.
In the sadness of this news, I raise my glass and toast to a true lady full of class.
