Sailboat sharing offer

Post by jflanagan »

We have an interesting offer. We have a friend who is selling her house in the Chicago suburbs who wants to give us a small sailboat for Beaver Island use. It is a Minifish sailboat (dimensions below).

We don't have a way to get it to Beaver Island because it doesn't come with a trailer and we don't have one nor do I know where you could rent a boat trailer.

If someone travels to and from Chicago and has a trailer I'd give you 100% use of the boat for year 1 and 80% for year 2 and you can use it occasionally after that in exchange for pulling it up to BI.

Okay dimensions of the Minifish Sailboat:
Length: 12' 6" (give or take)
Width: 43" (give or take)
Depth: 9" (give or take)
Weight: 80 - 100 pounds (not 100% could be more or less)
Mast (with the sail rolled up on it: 12' 6" (give or take)
Rudder board: 3.5'
Keel 3'

A friend of mine had one oif these when we were in Highschool. His was the larger model the " Sunfish". He carried it around upside down on top of a Buick Stationwagon. You don't need a trailer for this.
