The Senior Bash Planning Committee is accepting donations for this year's all night party following the traditional Junior/Senior Banquet Friday, May 19, at Holy Cross Hall, Beaver Island. In addition to scheduled entertainment the fact that each student and guest leaves with a prize is a nice drawing card that entices the teens to commit to an entire alcohol, tobacco and drug-free evening.
Donations are essential to provide for the quality of entertainment that attracts 100 percent student participation. Beaver Island and college and university sweatshirts and t-shirts, gift certificates redeemable at local businesses (restaurants, movie rentals, gas cards), sleeping bags, sporting goods, duffle bags, beach towels, MP3 & CD player, DVD's, TV's, and tickets to the Beaver Island Music Festival are some of the prizes which have been donated in in the past. Items suggested for this year's bash include a mini fridge for the dorm, an IPOD, and a box of home-made chocolate chip cookies. Donations of cash are needed as well to cover expenses totaling approximately $2,0000.00 to $3,0000.00.
