Musings of a new registered voter on the Island. When you look at the Charlevoix preliminary precinct results from yesterday, both St. James and Peaine were above 60% voter turnout. This is an astonishing result anywhere, particularly for a primary election. For Charlevoix overall, the average voter turnout was 26.87%. We clearly are an island of committed citizens who take our responsibilities seriously and I am proud to be a part of the group that sets the standard.
