"Was there ever a storm of record in which many lives were lost ON the island itself?" A tornado or November noreaster that caused significant damage to homes or property?

There was a storm on Armistice Day 1911 that washed ashore and destroyed fishing boats in the harbor. To my knowledge no lives were lost on Beaver Island from this storm.
Someone else may have more information on the subject.
