Why is there controversy on public forums ?

Post by Anna »

I've often wondered how the users of this forum treat one another when they're away from this forum.

I doubt very much if the person(s) who started this Beaver Island Forum met for it to contain so much controversy.

Aren't there ways to disagree with someone without being so disagreeable ?

I enjoy a good debate as well as the next guy but sometimes I've seen some pretty nasty stuff.

I choose to look at the postings as opinions and we all know what opinions are worth. Anything that is posted is going to be interpreted differently by every person reading what is written, unless it's a "to the matter" statement or subject.

Someone I used to work with always said "Why can't we just get along". I suppose it would make the world a pretty dull place after awhile.
