Beaver Island Michigan

i am looking into devising a theatrical project about the island and wanted to know the best way to get ahold of island history things. i wanted to incorporate my time on the island and the people that i know, past history, music, etc, etc. anyone have any thoughts?
i have been trying to write down everything that i know about the island and also reading the historical society journals. thanks, hannah lilly
