Lyme Disease Awareness and Tick Prevention

Post by JFPowers »

We are seeing record number of Dogs this year testing positive for Lyme disease. Dogs are a sentinel indicator of the dangers of Lyme Disease in Humans. Here is a link to a presentation that was done at the Community Center in 2015 that was put on in cooperation with the Michigan Department of Public Health It is a great time to review your awareness of this disease. Thanks to Joseph Moore for preserving this link. I will be returning soon to the island to do more appointments and will be available to provide more testing for Lyme Disease and Anaplasmosis in Dogs. Anaplasmosis and Lyme Disease are contracted when your pet is bitten by a tick infected with those diseases. These ticks are most active in the spring once ambient temperatures rise above 37 degrees Dr Jeff Powers
