Great new event this weekend on Beaver Island: Shop Local on Beaver Island. More information at the Beaver Island Community Center Facebook page -- https://www.facebook.com/bicommunitycen ... =3&theater. Enjoy movies, carols, craft sale, and shop at local businesses!

Join us Saturday December as we participate in the Chamber's Shop Local First holiday celebration. To help you enjoy shopping opportunities in town we have a full line-up of events planned at the BIC Center.
+ Island Art and Craft Sale & Gift Wrap from noon to 3:00 p.m.
+ Santa Clause starring Tim Allen at 1:00 p.m.
+ BIC Center Tree Lighting at 3:00 p.m.
+ Elf staring Will Ferrell, James Caan and Bob Newhart at 3:30 p.m.
+ Community Tree Lighting & Caroling at 5:30 p.m.
+ National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation starring Chevy Chase at 7:00 p.m.
In addition, we have been advised that Santa Clause himself will appear to hear the Christmas wishes of the young and young at heart, but we are still awaiting word on the time.

In addition to activities and shopping at the BIC Center you can visit other shops around the harbor including Power's Hardware, the Shamrock (serving brunch, lunch and dinner), the Blue Pearl, Shipwreck Shirts, Dalwhinnie's (serving breakfast and lunch), McDonough's Market and Whiskey Point Brewery (serving craft beer, wine and snacks).

Beaver Gems and Shipwreck’s Shirts will be open from 1:00 - 3:00 December 7 for Small Business Saturday. Most clothing is marked 40% off original price. New pottery, necklaces, and dog treats. Stop in for a chance to win the door prize and have some cookies and cocoa

The Library is featuring gently used books for all ages. You decide on the price..free will donation? Open 10-5 on Saturday!

Need some help getting ready for the holidays? Members of Team bIrobot, the National Honor Society and BICS Cheer Squad will be wrapping presents at the BIC Center from noon to 3 as part of Shop Local First Saturday.
