Toasts for St. Patrick's Day

Always remember to forget
The things that make you sad
But never forget to remember
The things that make you glad

Here's to you and yours
and to mine and ours,
And if mine and ours ever come
across you and yours,
I hope you and yours will do
as much for mine and ours,
As mine and ours have done
for you and yours!
(A toast best given before imbibing)

May those who love us, love us,
and those who don't, may God turn their hearts,
and if He doesn't turn their hearts,
may He turn their ankles
so we'll know them by their limping

May the saddest day
of your future be,
No worse than
the happiest day of your past.

(A toast heard in pubs on Saturday night as the good intensions of attending Sunday morning mass wane with each passing round)

When we drink, we get drunk.
When we get drunk, we fall asleep.
When we fall asleep, we commit no sin.
When we commit no sin, we go to heaven.
So let's all get drunk and go to heaven!

Not a toast but a beautiful Irish song.

May your neighbors respect you,
Troubles neglect you,
angles protect you, (per Kathe's link)
And heaven accept you.

May your troubles be less
And blessings be more
And nothing but happiness
Come through your door.
(a toast I'll give at our Bloody Mary brunch at noon)

(BMB, Bloody Mary Brunch, turned into a Irish toast marathon. Learned lots of new ones, some I can repeat and that some mates couldn't discern a toast from a limerick.)

My friends are the best friends
loyal, willing and able.
Now let's get to drinking!
All glasses off the table!

(It went downhill from there.)

May the roof above us never fall in,
And may we friends gathered below
never fall out.

May the winds of fortune sail you
May you sail a gentle sea
May it always be the other guy
Who says â??this drink is on meâ?￾

When God made man, he made;

The Italian for music and art.
The French for fine food.
The German for intelligence.
The Swedes for their beauty.
The Jews for religion.

And on and on... Until he looked at what he had created and said,
"This is all very fine but no one is having any fun... I guess I'll have to make me an Irishman"
