National EMS Week

We are very fortunate on Beaver Island to have Emergency Medical Services serving our island community. These individuals spend countless hours certifying and training to take care of us all in our time of need. May 15-21, 2016 is the 42nd annual National EMS Week. When you see these fine men and women give them a honk or a BIG THANK YOU for their 365 days a year-24 hour service!

End of a good week

This year's EMS week ended with a nationally recognized training program for all the EMS providers. It was the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians program of bleeding control. It is a program that is co-sponsored by the American College of Surgeons' Trauma Committee and contains sections from the PreHospital Trauma Life Support program.
