Paul Welke has been recognized for his decades of service.
The FAA award ceremony took place Tuesday in Charlevoix.
Paul Welke of Island Airways received two awards for his 50 years of service.
Welke was presented the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award and the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award.
Congratulations Paul!.... Last year I needed to be flown off the island for an emergency. Island Airways was not open at that specific moment. Paul told us to go to the airport anyway. When we arrived he was standing there waiting to get us where we needed to be. In my mind this was a true example of dedication and service to the community! Thanks again Paul!!! E.
