Donegal Bay beach chairs missing

    If you reside on Donegal Bay please be aware that beach chairs, which we had left on the beach, are missing. Since they were secured to a post, we know that they were not washed away. This is the first time in 30 years that we had encountered this problem on the island.

    Property crimes are about 2% less prevalent on Beaver Island than in Michigan as a whole. We are doing really well on the violent crime -- a rate more than 10% less than the national average. Keep up the good work, everyone.

    I'm not sure a 2% or 10% variance from national averages gives BI bragging rights. Keeping in mind that if the crime happens to you, you become the 100%. I'm sure Louis is not comforted by either the 2% or the 10%. Someone needs to return the chairs and move those percentages in the right direction.
