Islands Summit Press

Post by kboyle »

A large number of Beaver Islanders invested substantial time in organizing the Great Lakes Islands Summit and hosting a first-ever meeting of the Great Lakes islands. The island is getting plenty of great press as a result of the Island Summit. Here's the latest that appeared in the Manitoulin Expositor. When we work together, the results can be substantial.

Here's a pre-conference article that appeared in Great Lakes Boating magazine. It's an example of the attention generated by forwarding calendar entries from the WVBI/BIC Center Community Calendar to mainland media: http://www.lakelandboating.com/scuttle- ... ectType=35

You can get your event posted by going to the community calendar at any of the sites listed below and using the "Post Your Event" button in the upper right of the calendar:

www.wvbi.biccenter.org/calendar-2
www.biccenter.org/calendar/
www.beaverisland.michlibrary.org/
www.stjamestwp.org/community_events/index.php
www.http://peainetwp.org/other_calendars/index.php
www.bibco.com/beaver-island-and-tours-2 ... nd-events/

Posting your event at any of these locations will also get it on the air in Greg Doig's Community Calendar reports at WVBI, on all of those websites (tourist interest events for BIBCO) as well as on the digital signage system that is popping up around town and at the transportation terminals across. And its free. What a deal.
