Post by lmt »

Join us at the beautiful Community Center for our last 2 weeks of donation yoga. Every year the participation and donations get better. Sue S. and I are so grateful to everyone who participates and for their generous donations- 100% of money donated will help support the community center. Thank you!

LAST YOGA CLASS Friday September 2, 2016

Private yoga sessions are available and offer a great way to focus specifically on any injury you may have or to enhance your own personal practice. Discount for multiple sessions.

MONDAY~ NEW THERAPEUTIC YOGA 11:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m.
(only one class a week) SEE DESCRIPTION BELOW

MONDAY~ BASIC VINYASA (flow) 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.

We will slowly flow (Vinyasa) from one posture to another. Posture alignment will be explained giving students a greater opportunity to feel comfortable in attending this and other yoga classes, and more importantly to keep you safe. This class will help energize your whole body.

WEDNESDAY~ RESTORATIVE YOGA & Alignment~ 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.

Amazing benefits for 'restoring' the body and mind using relaxing seated postures holding for longer periods of time while softening the muscles and encouraging passive stretching to work on the deep, dense connective tissues. With continued practice these postures help bring balance & flexibility to the body. We invite you to take the opportunity to nurture your body, mind, and soul. BRING a small pillow and/or large towel if possible.

FRIDAY~ BASIC VINYASA ~ 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.

Start your Friday morning off with a nice easy yoga flow to energize you for your weekend on the island. Same description as Monday.

* Please arrive 10 minutes early on your first visit
* Mats, Blocks & Hand Towels available
* No perfumes or scents
* Suggested not to eat or drink ONE hour prior to class (maybe a small coffee)
* Bottled water for sale at the counter or bring your own

ALL Classes are donation based; please be considerate and acknowledge this does not mean free. A donation is the sacred act of giving. There is a suggested donation of $10 a class. Suggested donation means that if you can put $10 in the box, please do. If you are not in a position to do so, contribute what you can. The $10 dollar donation is not meant as a bottom or a top limitâ?¦ if you are in a position to donate more, it will be greatly appreciated by all who enjoy the Community Center.

Therapeutic Yoga â?? This class is designed for the aging individual who may be on medications, recovering from an injury or have limited mobility, post surgical and wanting to gain strength and flexibility, and those that are ready to start incorporating an exercise program that moves at your own pace. All poses are modified for therapeutic classes.

** Class size is limited and only offered to those that require chair/wall support, health conditions, physical concerns, knee / hip replacement, post surgical, and the aging adult wanting to incorporate mild physical activity into their life.

Learn to protect and strengthen the joints of the body to experience renewed movement with ease and joy. Suggestions will be made and poses implemented with the support of props and chairs to accommodate dysfunctional joints due to injury, aging issues, etc. Explore holding poses as we gradually apply load to the joints to increase strength and balance. Care will be taken to balance both strength and relaxation to develop a functional and happy body. Class also focuses on the ability to recruit the core muscles for balance poses. Class will focus on the alignment of the joints, the posture and most importantly, the spine.
Therapeutic Yoga will focus on the breath and work towards healing the body from the inside out.
