Just curious as to why the winners were announced prior to the dinner?? I don't recall this ever happening in the past.

Chamber Guy, Here's a suggestion to make it a surprise for the public. Contact the winners privately a few days prior to the dinner and invite them as the Chamber's guest (free) at the dinner to accept the award which should be kept secret until announced. If the winner is unable to attend, they can select a designate to accept the award.
Another thought would be to continue to announce the winner in advance on the forum and just forget about having an award's dinner.
Just a thought having been a past (passed) nominee.
