Don't be too quick on getting your dock repaired. Your dock may be level. Every few years, Lake G goes out of kilter by several feet. People always get concerned that it might be their dock that is not level. The last time this happened the north end was five feet higher than the south end. Only power boats could navigate the lake going north. :roll: :shock: :D :wink:

The Northern Michigan Geo Gas, Oil and Mineral Exploration Co. in August of 1963, while searching for island oil discovered a subterranean monolithic fulcrum along both sides of the 45th parallel. The geo gyro force can cause the fulcrum to go out of kilter by several feet at any given time. Their survey report indicated that this may attribute to Lake G not being level. At the time of the survey, Lake G was 7 feet above Lake Michigan level at the north end and 2 feet above Lake Michigan at the south end.
The survey was on file in the BI library for many years but I was unable to find it the other day.
