The Beaver Island Community Center presents "The Legends of Folk Music" on October 15 at 7pm. This very special concert will feature the music of Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie and more!
Performers include award winning songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Samuel Seth Bernard (Best Rock/Pop Album 2015 Michigan Jammies & founder of Earthwork Music Collective), world renowned percussionist Mike Shimmin (Aretha Franklin, Joshua Davis Trio), and blues and roots keyboard master Mike Lynch (Bob Seger, Kid Rock, Larry McCray, Joshua Davis Trio).
The artists in this project have appeared together with a host of other artists on more than 100 albums over the past 10-15 years, and played at some of the top festivals, universities and concert halls in Michigan, including shows this summer at Interlochen, The Wharton Center, Wheatland Music Festival, Blissfest and dozens of other main stage performances around the Midwest. The concert at the Beaver Island Community Center will also feature original music by Seth Bernard, May Erlewine and Joshua Davis.
Adult tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door and student tickets are just $5. Once again, a group discount of six tickets for the price of five will be offered! Tickets can be purchased at the Center or call 231 448-2022.
This special night of folk music is presented by Brick House Interactive, On Stage 4 Kids, The Begonia Charitable Foundation, The Charlevoix County Community Foundation and The Beaver Island Community Center.
