Bluegrass...on steroids! Tuesday, 8/18!

Post by BI Community Center »

Incendiary American roots duo Billy Strings & Don Julin tap into the vein of the earliest bluegrass music,
back when bluegrass was a rough-and-tumble art form pouring out of the Appalachian mountains, made with
great virtuosity and huge attitude.

With just a guitar and a mandolin (and a recently added bass!), and two voices, this Traverse City-based duo
has been tearing up stages across America and generating huge buzz based on their intense live shows.

Bluegrass started off with a howl to be heard, and this same spirit is alive and well today in
Billy Strings & Don Julin!

Come join us for an exciting evening of masterful musicianship!
Tuesday, August 18th at 8pm $20

This may be our last Beaver Island opportunity to experience Billy Strings & Don Julin--
plus Kevin Gills on bass!

They have been touring all over the country on the Bluegrass Festival Circuit this summer and
performing on-stage with the likes of the Del McCoury Band, and out-selling all other
bands in terms of merchandise--including Bella Fleck!

Don't miss this one-of-a-kind Beaver Island concert experience and opportunity!

This band played at this year's prestigious Ann Arbor Folk Festival, a celebration of roots music that featured Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell, Yonder Mountain String Band, Amos Lee, Ani DiFranco, Buffy Sainte-Marie, and other stars.

They've been criss-crossing the country this summer, playing well-known bluegrass festivals such as Grey Fox, Wintergrass, DelFest, Rockygrass, Romp, and more. And tonight, they're playing at the BICC on Beaver Island!

I've been waiting for this concert all summer! If you want to hear some of the fastest picking around, come and see Billy Strings. I went to their concert here last year and was blown away by Billy and Don.
