Here at Hogarth's Pest Control we want to tell people to be careful of the Yellow Jacket and Bald Face Hornets Nests. These nests can grow to the size of basketballs now and will double in size every two weeks.
This time of year yellow jackets and hornets attack and swarm in numbers. If they're going into a hole on the house do not seal it because they will gnaw into the house and cause an even bigger problem.
When yellow jackets and hornets are present it means there is a paper nest somewhere close on or in a house, tree, shrub or in the ground. This is the time of year when you should avoid spraying them yourself and call a professional to take care of them.
If you do attempt to take care of these nests yourself, it's imperitive to wear a protective clothing. We strongly advise that people with allergies avoid disturbing nests at all costs.
