Wanted: Gouvernail et deux canots

Post by robertg »

For the Beaver Island History Adventure, Friday, May 22, I'd like to take the students out for a short paddle and tell them about the voyageurs. I am in need of two canoes, paddles, life jackets (child- and adult-size), and one more experienced paddler. Merci beaucoups!

OK, I have the canoes, but am still in need of the life jackets and an experienced sternsman, eager to share his/her love of canoeing with our students. Any takers? [Sorry, BI Pirate, this is a canoeing expedition, not a sail in search of booty, spoils, and plunder.]

OK, now all I need is the paddler! Is there an experienced sternsman who would be willing to help me ferry some BICS students around Font Lake for a few hours on Friday, 5/22? It'd be a great way to kick off Memorial Day weekend!

I am an experienced canoer from my days as a Boy Scout having done the Pere Marquette, Pine, Thornapple and Muskegon. Little slower on the lake, but same principles, I'd be happy to help.
