The Beaver Island Taekwondo team are raising funds to go to a tournament in Kalamazoo, Michigan in September.
They have trained very hard for over a year and this competition is a state qualifier for the Olympics. If a student places in the tournament they can move onto the Nationals.
We are trying to raise enough money to cover all the expenses needed for the trip, and are having a fundraiser on Saturday from 9am until 3pm at the Lemon Tree on Kings Highway next to the Condos. Look for the signs!
There will be a special fundraising table at Dave's regular garage sale. If you have something you want to donate that you think will sell to raise funds for the team, please bring it along. We are also going to have a bake sale with lots of yummy treats.
We are planning more events this summer so stay tuned...

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our first fundraiser for the team's trip to the Michigan Cup Taekwondo Tournament in September.
We exceeded expectations and raised $350 between personal donations, and donations for the baked goods and the items at the garage sale.
This gives us a great start towards our goal of $2,000.00.
We will be having more fundraisers shortly, so watch this space for further details.
