Library Closed 10/20/12
Beaver Island District Library is closed. No power. It will reopen tomorrow morning, 31 October, at 10 a.m. provided the electricity is back on.
Guess I'll reply my own question. Got a call from a friend on the Island.
Power has been of and on due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy.
Not as much of a problem in town but several outages out toward Donegal Bay where we live. Sorry, not sure about the South end of the Island.
Power is back on now and has been for a little while.
The effects of the Hurricane were impressive. Wind gusts up to 75 mph with some wave out on the lake of 35 feet. even a snow flurry.
