If you don't have the money to do it now, you probably won't in five years either. I don't think the goal of the tiny house movement is to stand in the gap because you can't afford to do something now. It's a life style not a band-aid.

Would love to see a tiny house variance. This would allow for more affordable summer housing and more development on the island. a local campground opened a new section two years ago of tiny house's. These are seasonal spots. It's a HUGE hit. They offer water and electric and septic pump out service.

This is an interesting post. Some of the most vocal people on this forum who consistently post about the injustices of Beaver Island are silent. Example....I have non-homestead rental homes where I live were I pay full millage of $2200. The same non-homestead home on Beaver Island with the same value would have a tax liability...
