Re: Property search
Hi Tania. You may be able to find some land within that price range but read the deed CAREFULLY before signing. Also make sure you know what the property taxes are. Some can be very high. I would not recommend moving into the Port of Saint James subdivision area. The restrictions on property owners ...

Re: School info
Well said Jeff, There is nothing wrong with people having information. Anyone trying to hide or prevent people from getting access to information usually has something to hide. In my 18 years living on the island I learned a lot. I had highs and lows but I built up an amazing clientele and really en...

Re: School info
Dear Ken, I'm sorry to have triggered your hateful, bigoted, intolerant, rageaholic, aging brain again. Ken, I posted the information for the public without comment. I believe that all taxpayer-funded entities on Beaver Island should publicly post all of their expenses annually on the forum for all ...

Re: Seawall
In 1913 there was a great storm that hit the Great lakes for days. 90 mph winds, 35 feet waves. Many ships lost. This will happen again.

Re: Seawall
I remember helping the Runbergs paint and drywall your home probably about 20 years ago. I have always wondered why people on East Side drive would willingly build so close to a bluff that clearly had obvious signs of serious historical erosion patterns. When you bought the land and it had an existi...

Re: CV-19's next victim: the postal service?
The post office has had decades of problems you can research. Their problems are of a structural and poor business model nature and have nothing to do with COVID 19. They have tried to make changes in the past but often Congress blocks meaningful reform. They once wanted to close 3700 low use rural ...

Re: Missing
Two great men. I first met Red in 1998. His personal story was pretty amazing. He told me about his single mom raising 5 kids. I think he joined the Marine Corp at 18. He saw some brutal combat in the Korean war. He told me this funny story once how he stole a whole wooden crate of of what he though...

Re: Brine On Roads 2.0
$55,000 for putting brine on the dirt roads is nothing in comparison to having to operate heavy machinery 5 days a week 52 weeks a year constantly grading an maintaning the roads. Be smart and pave the major roadways. It is more environmentally responsible to have the main roads paved than to contin...
