Enjoyed Lisa's classes during our two weeks on the island last August. Looking forward to joining her again in about 5 weeks (not that I'm counting the days...)

T.C. Boyle's book When the Killing's Done is about this very topic. I would recommend it.

Never met Mr. Broder, but I know he had a regular presence on the Island and wrote about Island life on occasion. The article indicated cause of death was complications of diabetes.
